We all know that the world is changing faster than ever, but is it changing for the better? This is a question the FCA is asking itself. Through our membership and associations the FCA has site of a wide range of innovations challenges in different sectors and countries. We were curious how people were experiencing these apparently different challenges. Passionate about adding value to innovation practice we asked all the participants from the Spring 2018 Summit “what was their biggest challenge for making innovative progress”?
We were delighted with the rich dialogue, that community engaged in. We shared the findings with all who contributed Findings Report, and Epilogue. The insights were very illuminating...the research revealed 3 levels of shared challenge;
The community sited…
Overwhelmingly, the top challenge to unlocking innovation potential was to learn how to work at the level of Mindset and Culture – how to help people unlock their thinking and respond differently to challenges. How to really engage with people through agile and focused collaboration starts with the shared beliefs and values systems present in the culture and individual. To make shifts at a sustainable level needed for effective progress.
Secondly, the community want to develop the ‘Know-How’ - specifically through ‘thought-leadership’ on how to accelerate change by do things differently. Practical help with providing different approaches that could solve complex challenge.
And thirdly, people really value going on Future Centers “Safaris” - offering dynamic, interactive learning experiences. Where they can network and learn from one another thus enabling new thinking to emerge.
These were a consistent response regardless of sector, country or field of expertise.
An ultra-fast 45 days journey
There is an increasing amount written about Mindset and Culture, yet the prevailing approaches seems to suggest that it takes a long time and needs a great deal of resources. The FCA recognise this as a long-standing border-less challenge.
A small team of passionate members have decided to embark on a pioneering prototyping journey in partnership with Archetypal Potential to experience a radically new approach that focuses on working with the disruptive innovation curve and universal patterns of behaviours.
We invite and welcome you into this conversation as we'd love to be in dialogue with people also working on this frontier. As we experiment and learn over the next 45days we will be sharing our thoughts and insights with you.
